Favre and Rodgers
Editor’s note: For some reason I feel like blogging about sports. Rather than clutter anything up on any of the sites that exist to boost my Personal Brand, I’ll write about it on Posterous.
Heh, every time I see Aaron Rodgers, I’m reminded of his situation with Brett Favre and just how closely it mirrors what happened in San Diego in 2004 with the departure of Drew Brees to make way for Philip Rivers.
The results have been nearly the same, too: Both departed quarterbacks (Favre and Brees) have performed quite well in their new homes, and the heirs apparent have been very effective for their teams, too. While Rodgers has yet to see postseason play, that’s inevitable — he’s accurate, getting better at minimizing sacks, and takes care of the football. And yeah, Philip Rivers is as gutsy — and underrated — of any quarterback in the NFL.
